Xerophytic garden
During the winter of 2006-7 Will Giles and his ever expanding slave collective has been creating a stunning new Xerophytic garden behind the house in the former woodland garden. This has been a major project for the exotic garden greatly extending its range of planting with prickly arid desert plants. This exiting project will be completed by May for its grand June opening.

New Book
Will Giles has written a new book entitled ‘The Encyclopaedia of Exotic Plants For Temperate Gardens’ due for publication by ‘Timber Press’ in October 2007. This massive tome will cover over 2,500 species and cultivars (and 500 plus photographs) that can be grown in the UK and the Pacific North-western coastal States of North America. This new book is a must for enthusiasts and gardeners who live in a temperate climate, giving soil requirements and minimum temperatures for all entries. With our ever-changing weather this exiting book shows you what can be grown now and in the future with global warming in mind.

Brugmansia collection
Whilst writing the Brugmansia section of my forthcoming book, I had the privilege of getting to know Monica Gottschalk a renowned Brugmansia grower and hybridiser in Germany. Since then I have collected from her and other growers in Germany and the United States over 50 species and hybrids of which many should flower this year for the first time.
